Snowboarding Facts

Snow boarding for some people is a sport, for some a passion while it is an activity for others. While browsing for School Management Jobs, I found some interesting facts that I will like to share with both old and new or aspiring snowboarders. Snowboarding has a huge following especially in the United States where it originated from and it became a Winter Olympic sport in 1998 after it began between the 1960’s and 70’s. Snowboarding experts say that it developed from the ideas of skiing, skateboarding, surfing and sledding. What we call snowboarding today actually (modern day) started with an Engineer who was trying to create a toy for his daughter. It is from his model that various snowboard makers of today like Burton and Sims Snowboards had their initial ideas before making advancements.

Many competitions have sprung up around the world in this sport. They are so much that not all of them are popular, registered or official. Amongst the ones known are Shakedown and Air & Style. There are also video production companies set up for the specific reason of covering snowboarding. It is important to let people who think snowboarding is just a minor thing know that this game has grown. I know someone who just got to know about the existence of snowboard magazines. I could not lay my hands on any hard copy but thanks to the online versions. This is how I was able to prove the existence of magazines that are started mainly to cover snowboarding. There are many other facts on snowboarding that many enthusiasts do not know, you will be in for good surprises if you make efforts to find out.
